The Name Al-Rahmaan – The Prophecy of Muhammad ibn Abd Allah

One of the earliest words revealed to Muhammad ibn Abd Allah, which now recurs at the beginning of nearly every chapter, is the word “Al-Rahmaan” — that divine name which had not been known in any previous revelation with the same form and depth. The presence of this name at the start of the revelation is not accidental, but rather an announcement of a new phase in the relationship between humans and the Creator, and in humanity’s understanding of the universe.
